Doug Owens is a founding Partner with the firm. Doug received his Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1978 from the University of Western Ontario and obtained his undergraduate degree from Trent University.
Specializing in real estate matters, Doug's experience includes acting for large investors with respect to the acquisition, development, financing and sale of industrial, condominium and commercial properties, office buildings and infill developments. Doug has developed an extensive golf course development and financing practice coupled with extensive commercial leasing experience acting for national companies including those in the retail and those in the motion picture sectors. In addition, Doug provides service for institutional lenders with respect to commercial/residential underwriting and commercial mortgage remedies and is experienced in all areas of real estate law.
Doug has been a Director of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club and a Director of the Upper Stoney Lake Cottagers Association. He is currently a Director of Admiralty Point Condominium Corporation and is both a director and a member of Wildfire Golf Club. Doug is an avid golfer and squash player and formerly a provincial champion for squash and badminton.
